The Silver Peak Studio Story
Hi! I'm Jen, former fitness trainer and triathlete turned jewelry designer and metalsmith, owner of Jen Lesea Designs, and the creative visionary behind Silver Peak Studio. When COVID-19 hit in March, all my art shows cancelled and most of my planned revenue vanished. I'm not new to pivoting and adapting, so I thought, "how can I help jewelers keep creating and career jewelers stay in business?"
I decided to apply for the Martha Kate Thomas Grant through Boulder County Arts Alliance in order to create a boutique-style jewelry studio where jewelers can rent the studio in a cost effective manner on a half-day or full-day basis. I was awarded the grant at the end of May and since then, I have hit the ground running! Additionally, I reached out to several very talented metalsmith jewelry instructors and together, we are going to offer jewelry workshops for jewelers who want to expand their skill set and be successful in selling jewelry during this unprecedented time.
About Silver Peak Studio
Located in the NoBo Arts District in Boulder, Colorado, Silver Peak Studio offers 1-day specialty metalsmithing, jewelry design, and jewelry business workshops in a small group environment, with a maximum of 3 students per class. We believe you learn best when you have more interaction with the instructor and all of your classmates.
Because safety and health is our top priority, we have a clean protocol that is CDC compliant. In addition, we'll be doing a health screening which will include taking temperatures at the door, asking guests to wash their hands upon entering, and providing hand sanitizer at each jeweler's station as well as disinfectant for tools and equipment.
If you ever have any questions or want more information about our workshops and community open studio, you can contact Jen and she will respond within 1 business day.
